Aum Muruga Society: Born in Nallur, Jaffna, Sri Lanka; Obtained primary education from Senguntha Hindu College and secondary education from St. John's College, Jaffna; Graduated in civil engineering from the University of Sri Lanka,Katubeede Campus; earned PhD in Concrete Technology from the University of Sheffield; Lectured at the University of Malaya, National University of Singapore, the University of Technology, Sydney (since 1988): Currently Visiting Associate Professor at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore
